Abstract:
PURPOSE: To extend the life of an ion laser tube twice, by providing two pairs of anodes and cathodes through a plasma thin tube.
CONSTITUTION: Radiating fins 12 are attached to the outer surface of a plasma thin tube 1 through a metallized layer 11. An anode 2 and a cathode 7 are attached to one end of the plasma thin tube 1. An anode 2' and a cathode 7' are attached to the other end thereof. In these two pairs of the anodes and the cathodes, when one pair of the anode and the cathode are deteriorated, they are switched to the other pair of the anode and the cathode, or the anodes and the cathodes are switched at every specified time interval by a timer. Thus the life of the tube can be exteneded twice.
