Title:
IONICALLY OR NONIONICALLY STABILIZED EPOXY ADDUCT AS WATER-DILUTABLE BASE RESIN FOR ISOCYANATE-CROSSLINKABLE BINARY-COMPONENT SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000129118
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To obtain the subject ionically and nonionically stabilized epoxy adduct that can provide a binary system useful as a binder for paint occurring no bubbles or defects in coated layers, even when it is combined with unblocked isocyanates under specific conditions.

(A) A hydrophilic epoxy adduct bearing hydroxy groups as a reactive group that is selected from among a cationically stabilized hydrophilic epoxy adduct, an anionically stabilized hydrophilic epoxy adduct, a nonionically stabilized epoxy adduct, and an amphoterically stabilized epoxy-amine adduct, and (B) a water-based dispersion of unblocked difunctional or polyfunctional isocyanate are used as the base to obtain a binary component system. In a preferred embodiment, the adduct of an epoxy resin of a specific epoxy group content of 300-11,500 mmol/kg to an amine bearing only tertiary amino groups is used as the cationically stabilized epoxy adduct in the component A.
