Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a paint capable of dispersing a strong electric current due to lightning and useful as the protecting paint for a launching site and airplane parts by blending a film-forming binder and a specific pigment.

CONSTITUTION: Pigment (B) is prepared by blending (a) 20-100 wt.% ionizable pigment being one or more alkali(earth)metal salt selected from a polymer having single or more functional organic acid, carboxylic acid or an acid group selected from acidic cesium tartrate, barium oxalate, an acidic ion-exchange resin exchanged with Cs+ or Ba2+ or cesium tartrate, in which a first ionization potential is 3.89-6.2 volt and (b) an other paint pigment, if necessary. (A) a film-forming binder, the (B) component with the weight ratio of 0.7-4 to the (A) component and 0-60 wt.% a (C) solvent are blended to prepare the pigments.
