Abstract:

To provide a method of obtaining a refined iridium aqueous solution efficiently from an aqueous solution containing iridium and impurity elements.

The method of removing the platinum group elements other than iridium from the aqueous solution containing iridium and other platinum group element includes: a step (1) of obtaining a first filtrate by adding metal bismuth in the solution having pH controlled to <3.0 to reduce and deposit the platinum group element except iridium and filtering to remove the deposited material; and a step (2) of obtaining a second filtrate by adding a base to the first filtrate to control the pH to ≥3.0 to deposit and settle the dissolved bismuth component and removing the deposited material form the first filtrate by filtration.
