Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron-base sintered alloy connecting rod which has a mechanical breakage surface on a separation surface between a rod and a cap.
SOLUTION: A connecting rod is made of iron-base sintered alloy containing 1.0 to 5.0wt.% of Ni, 0.3 to 3.0wt.% of Si, 0.5 to 4.0wt.% of Mo, 0.3 to 1.0wt.% of C, and on necessity, 1.0 to 3.0wt.% of Cu, remainder of Fe and inevitable impurity and its density is 6.8 to 7.4g/cc.
