Abstract:

To provide an iron base sintered alloy excellent in wear resistance at high temperature and small in attackability against the corresponding member.

This iron base sintered alloy ahs a composition containing, by mass, 10 to 40% Cu and one or more kinds selected from Co, Cr, Mo, W, Mn, V, Nb and Si by 3 to 35% in total and containing, at need, 0.05 to 3.5% C and/or 0.1 to 15% Ni, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities and has a structure in which, into a base formed by bonding an Fe base alloy phase 1 essentially consisting of Fe with a Cu base alloy phase 2 essentially consisting of Cu, a hard alloy grain phase 3 of 500 to 1,700 MHV is dispersed in a state of being surrounded by an Fe base alloy phase 1' having a petaled cross-sectional shape.
