Title:
IRON-BASED METAL SOFT MAGNETIC DUST CORE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3902638
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron-based metal soft magnetic dust core for electronic parts having high magnetic properties, namely, high permeability, high magnetization saturation, a small loss, a stable DC superimposed characteristic, etc., and to provide a method of manufacturing the dust core.
SOLUTION: It is found out that primary particles containing strains exist in the crystals of individual particles, and that the magnetic properties of this dust core can be improved by producing sub-grains of 150-700 nm in width in the particles by selecting treating conditions for relieving the strains. Since the high-frequency characteristic of the dust core becomes worse and uncontrollable when the mean particle diameter of iron powder exceeds 220 μm in the used material, the appropriate mean particle diameter of the iron powder is ≤220 μm. In addition, although the magnetic properties of the dust core can be improved to some extent even when sub-grains have spherical shapes, the properties can be improved more when the aspect ratios of the sub-grains are adjusted to ≥3.
