Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a set of iron clubs in which a senior golf player can hit a ball in an intended direction and can achieve a long carry without feeling physical disorder when the player is ready for a shot.
SOLUTION: The head 1 of an iron club of this iron club set has a face wall part 2 and a back expanding sole part 4 formed overall in the toe-heal direction along the bottom edge of the back 8 of the face wall part 2. When the head 1 is put on a horizontal plane 20 taking the regular address posture and if the head 1 is cut along the vertical plane orthogonally crossing the face surface 3, the position of the sole part 4 where the section area is the largest in the toe-heel direction is moved toward the toe successively or step by step as the number of the iron club becomes larger.
