PURPOSE: To density while plastically fluidizing by sintering FeSi2 powder at a specific lower temperature range than the melting point of FeSi2 when the powder is sintered.
CONSTITUTION: The temperature of sintering FeSi2 powder is limited to a temperature range of plastically fluidizing lower by 120 to 60°C than the melting point of FeSi2. More desirably, the atmosphere is evacuated to vacuum to 10-3Torr or less, and the applied pressure is set to 150kgf/cm2 or more. The powder used as a material is sintered in particle solid phase, but fine particles are not incorporated to rough particles, but can be sintered while holding the particle size of the material powder. Thus, a fine structure in which the particle size distribution of the material particles is maintained as it is is exhibited, a dandifying phenomenon in which crystalline grains are moved by the applied pressure one by one to bury the pores, i.e., plastically fluidizing is conducted to expedite the dandifying.
