Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance repulsion performance on a sole side of a face striking a ball.SOLUTION: An iron type golf club head 1 comprises a face 2 and a sole 3. The golf club head comprises: a face plate 10 formed of titanium or titanium alloy; and a head body 11 which supports an outer peripheral part of the face plate 10 and is formed of a metallic material having relative density larger than that of the face plate 10. The face plate 10 comprises plural score lines 12 extending in a toe and heel direction, and a sole side edge 10d extending in the sole side of the face 2. When the face 2 is viewed from a front face side, in a score line area 20 which is a zone from ends closest to the toe side to ends closest to the heel side on the score lines 12, at least a part of the sole side edge 10d has a separation distance in a vertical direction to a head sole side contour line 8 along the face 2, which is equal to or less than 2.5 mm.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
