PURPOSE: To provide an ironing device capable of proper and stable, water supply to the tank of an ironing body for a long period, regarding an ironing device where water is fed to the iron in response to the placement of the body on a stand.
CONSTITUTION: A valve device comprising a solenoid valve is fitted at a feed water passage 21 connecting the tank 15 of an ironing body 3 to a feed water device 22, and the valve device is caused to open or close in response to the operation of the feed water device 22. When the feed water device 22 is not operating, the valve device closes. Also, when water is fed to the tank 15 of the iron body 3 via the operation of the feed water device 22, the valve device is caused to open in response to the operation thereof. Also, when a water amount detection means 19 detects that the tank 15 is full of water and stops the operation of the feed water device 22, the valve device is actuated to close the feed water passage 21 for preventing a water back flow to the tank 15 full of water, thereby enabling the intermittent operation of the feed water device 22 to be prevented at a water feed process.
