Abstract:
To obtain a polyisocyanurate-layered silicate composite compsn. improved in mechanical strengths, heat resistance, and flame retardance by compounding a polyisocyanate with a layered silicate which has been subjected to ion exchange with an org. ammonium.
A polyisocyanurate-layered silicate composite compsn. is obtd. by heating 100 pts.wt. polyisocyanate to 20-120°C and adding to it under stirring 0-30 pts.wt. alcohol and 0.01-100 pts.wt. layered silicate which has a particle size of 1,000μm or lower and has been subjected to ion exchange with an org. ammonium.
