Abstract:

To provide a separation and concentration method and a separation and concentration apparatus for easily separating and concentrating 14CO from carbon monoxide.

The isotope separation and concentration method comprises an adsorption step of supplying a raw material gas containing at least 12CO and 14CO to an adsorption system containing an isotope selective adsorbent for adsorbing 14CO in the isotope selective adsorbent and passing 12CO through the adsorption system; a parallel flow purge step of supplying a gas enriched with 14CO to the adsorption system in the same direction as the supply direction of the raw material gas; and a regeneration step of leading the isotope selective adsorbent to lower pressure than that at the adsorption step for desorbing 14CO and at the same time regenerating the isotope selective adsorbent and a portion of 14CO desorbed in the regeneration step is sent as the 14CO-enriched gas to the parallel purge step.
