Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:3-(5-Methyl-4-oxo-4-isoxazolin-2-yl)-2-aminopropionic acid and a salt thereof.
USE: A plant growth regulating agent having an elongation promoting effet particularly on the roots of rice plant seedlings.
PROCESS: 5-Methyl-3-hydroxyisoxazole is reacted with an α-acetaminoacrylic acid to give 3-(5-methyl-3-oxo-4-isoxazolin-2-yl)-2-acetaminopropionic acid, which is then hydrolyzed in a dilute acid solution to afford the aimed novel substance.
