Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a jack-up type working ship which is safe and economic, by a method wherein a plurality of buoyant tanks are attached to the outer surface of the side of a working chip hull to yield sufficient buoyancy and a restoration force.
CONSTITUTION: A buoyant tank 1 is carried to the given position of a working ship hull, and is positioned along a flat guide 7. Thereafter, after water is poured in the tank 1 through a sounding manhole 3 to sink the tank 1 until it is forced into contact with a vertical support platform 8, an eyeplate 4 on the tank side and an eyeplate 6 on the ship hull side are attached together by means of a bolt 9 inserted therethrough. Thereafter, water in the tank 1 is drained to produce buoyancy.
