Abstract:

To provide the Japanese drum which has nearly the same timbre with a Japanese drum with a hollow body and can maintain durability and strength although the drum has a barrel body.

The Japanese drum is formed of a wooden bucket having its body A constituted by connecting body plates 5 arranged on the circumference; and an internal-surface coating plate 1 made of a synthetic resin plate is stuck on the side of the body A formed of the body plates 5 and an external-surface coating plate 2 made of a synthetic resin plate is stuck on the outside of the cylindrical body A. The adjacent body plates 5 on the circumference have their flanks adhered with adhesives to constitute the body A which is integrated on the whole. Through holes which links the inside and outside of the body A with each other are bored in the body plates 5 and the internal-surface coating plate 1 and external-surface coating plate 2 are connected in one body by synthetic resin link bodies 3 arranged in the through holes.
