Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the functions of Japanese input equipment by employing the mode wherein the presence position of an optional editing area is registered in a left-end and a right-end buffer.

CONSTITUTION: A flip-flop 13 is set through operation on a keyboard 7. In this state, a left and right end detection part reads the contents of an X buffer 15X, a Y buffer 15Y, and a screen code buffer 11. Then, the X-coordinate positions of marks 1 and 2 in the buffer 11 are preset in a left-end buffer 16L and a right-end buffer 16R. In this state, Japanese language is inputted. During the input, coordinates of the cursor are set in the X buffer 15X and Y buffer 15Y, and the contents of the buffers 15X and 15Y are updated according to the movement of the cursor. the left and right end detection part 14 monitors the contents of the buffers 15X and 15Y, and buffers 16L and 16R.
