PURPOSE: To obtain the subject coating by mixing an organic solvent solution of Urushi with an organic solvent solution of a titanium alkoxide to give coating films with higher weatherability because of containing titanium dioxide formed by hydrolysis of the titanium alkoxide.

CONSTITUTION: The objective coating can be obtained by mixing an organic solvent solution of Urushi with an organic solvent solution of a titanium alkoxide (e.g. titanium tetraisopropoxide). The organic solvent to be used for dissolving Urushi is pref. benzene, toluene or kerosine, whereas, that for dissolving titanium alkoxide is pref. benzene, toluene or ethanol. It is recommended that the Urushi and titanium alkoxide be dissolved in small amounts of the respective solvents and the respective resulting solutions mixed so as to be 10-500wt.% in the ratio of the titanium alkoxide to the Urushi.
