Title:
JAPANESE SENTENCE INPUT DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6037065
Kind Code:

Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain an input device of a Japanese sentence, which can be operated easily, by displaying a cursor at a corresponding position of a Chinese character or an idiom having a condidate, when a display selecting mode is designated by a switching key, and erasing that which is not designated. CONSTITUTION:When reading of a Japanese sentence is inputted by ''Kana'' (Japanese syllabary) from a keyboard 1, a writing circuit 7 writes it in a page memory 4. When a Chinese character or an idiom is inputted, a retrieving circuit 8 retrieves a ''Kana''/Chinese character converting table in an external storage device 5, fetches a Chinese character or an idion of homophone, and writes it in the page memory 4. When a mode switching key is depressed after a reading ''Kana'' of several lines has been inputted, the maximum six pieces of ''Kana'' of one line portion and the Chinese character of the idiom are read out of the page memory 4, sent to a display device 2 and displayed. When an operator designates by a numerical key one Chinese character or idiom from a Chinese character string or an idiom string under a cursor, others are erased, and the designated character is displayed in the sentence. Simultaneously, the cursor moves to the right, and advances to under a reading ''Kana'' corresponding to the next Chinese character string or idiom string.
