To provide a small-sized lightweight jaw crusher wherein the lives of wearable parts are prolonged, the waste of energy is minimized, and the clearance at the exit of the crushing chamber is easily adjusted.

The jaw crusher is provided with a fixed toothed plate (3) and a swing toothed plate (5) that is opposite thereto and is freely swingable, and a swing toothed plate load reception part (10) with which the plate (5) is backed. The part (10) is a freely rotatable link mechanism provided with a hydraulic cylinder (40) with a fastening fit mechanism. The front end of a freely rotatable lever (12) freely pivotally mounted on a frame (2) and the lower part of the plate (5) are connected to each other in a freely swingable manner through a coupling joint (23), a link (20), and the second and third pins (21 and 23a). The front end of the cylinder (40) attached to the frame (2) in a freely swingable manner in which its axis is substantially vertical is connected to the rear end of the lever (12) through the fourth pin (25). A hydraulic circuit that opens the cylinder (40) during crushing is provided.
