Abstract:

To provide a jellylike cosmetic good in long-term stability, highly spreadable as the gel instantaneously disintegrates in use, and slight in greasiness as well.

The jellylike cosmetic comprises (a) pectin, (b) a sugar alcohol( preferably sorbitol ) and (c) a lower alcohol. The pH of this cosmetic is 3.5-6.0 at 25°C in the system. The gel readily disintegrates by pressing on the skin, therefore obtaining the objective cosmetic good in spreadability, free of greasiness, highly compatible with the skin, thus good in usability.
