Abstract:
To provide a jet mill 10 having high crushing efficiency and durability and capable of manufacturing a high-quality product and a method for operating the jet mill 10.SOLUTION: When a raw material is supplied from a hopper member 43 through a supply path 10a formed by an inner cylinder 37c into the center of a crushing chamber 20a while horizontally rotating a mill body 20 at a high speed, the raw material is splashed to the inner peripheral surface of the crushing chamber 20a by an accelerator 29, and collected in a ring-shaped groove 20d formed in the inner peripheral surface. Raw material particles collected in the ring-shaped groove 20d are condensed at a high density in the ring-shaped groove 20d by means of a centrifugal force of the mill body 20 horizontally rotated at the high speed, and crushed by means of a high-pressure gas injected through a nozzle 41. The crushed raw material is reduced in mass to fly up in the crushing chamber 20a, and the flying-up crushed raw material is sucked by negative pressure applied to a discharge path 10c from a vacuum pump (not shown), and discharged from the crushing chamber 20a through a discharge port 35.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
