Abstract:

To provide a jet syringe having a mechanism producing an air sump in an injection tube of the syringe and jetting a part of a drug to be jetted first from the syringe at a momentum sufficient for opening a hole in the skin of a patient.

This syringe is provided with a syringe body 20, a drug chamber 34, and a plunger 36 inserted inside the drug chamber 34 and pushing out the drug from a distal end of the chamber. The syringe body is provided with an intrachip air mechanism drawing out a part of the plunger from the chamber and producing the air sump 42 inside the chamber adjoining to the distal end 40 in its inside. The intrachip air mechanism includes a gripper ring 50, however, the gripper ring is disposed inside the syringe body and is so oriented first that the plunger freely passes through the ring. A button 52 operable by a user is attached to the gripper ring 50, the button is engaged with the plunger 36, and the gripper ring is inclined first till the plunger is moved in a proximal direction so as to produce the air sump.
