PURPOSE: To provide a jig for cutting constituted of an alloy of high hardness and excellent corrosion resistance, a non-magnetic alloy further, by composing it by the respectively specified amounts of manganese and chrome and composing a remaining part by iron and attendant impurities.
CONSTITUTION: For the alloy for constituting this jig for cutting, Mn, Cr and Fe are essential components. In this case, Mn is an element required for lowering magnetic permeability and the content is 10-30 wt.%. Cr is the component for contributing to the improvement of the hardness and corrosion resistance of the alloy and the content is 10-30 wt.%. Also, when N is added for less than 1.0 wt.%, a structure is stabilized and made non-magnetic by suppressing the appearance of martensite and it is useful. In the alloy, it is required to be non-magnetic as the jig for cutting used for cutting a magnetic material such as a magnetic tape or the like, the alloy provided with the chemical composition is dissolved in a high frequency induction melting furnace and casted, the processings of hot forging and hot rolling, etc., are executed to an obtained ingot, the solution treatment of heat quenching at 1100°C is executed, cold working is performed and a material for a guard member is attained.
