Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a joined part having excellent property without any defect by helically arranging at least one of a projecting groove or a recessed groove on an outer peripheral face of a pin to be inserted into a joining part while rotating in high speed along part of a length in the pin axial direction to increase plastic flow of a material under friction heat generated by its agitation action.
SOLUTION: Three grooves 22 are helically arranged on an outer peripheral face of a pin 14 from a tip of the pin 14 toward a base part side in 120° phase difference. A helical recessed groove 22 arranged to an outer peripheral face of the pin 14 is set to a state, under which the pin 14 is inserted into a butting part of a part to be joined of metal material, plastic flow of a material is effectively improved due to friction heat generated by its agitation action, thus, the plastic flow around the pin 14 arranged to the recessed groove 22 is improved, mixing of structure at the butting part of two platy metal materials to be joined is effectively done, defect is not caused in the joined part.
