Title:
JIG FOR REMOVING JACKET OF COATED OPTICAL FIBER TERMINAL PART OF OPTICAL FIBER RIBBON
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0572420
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To easily and completely remove the terminal jacket of the coated optical fiber of a thin optical fiber ribbon at a time by providing >=2 cutting edges in parallel to the length direction of the coated optical fiber of the optical fiber ribbon. CONSTITUTION:A stripper is provided with two couples of opposite cutting edges 7a and 7a, and 7b and 7b in parallel to the length direction of the coated optical fiber 5 of the optical fiber ribbon. The interval between the adjacent cutting edges 7a and 7b is <=5 mm. When the jacket layer 3 of the coated optical fiber 5 of the optical fiber ribbon is cut and drawn away by using a jacket removing jig like this, the jacket layer 3 between the adjacent cutting blades 7a and 7b can be swelled to secure catching more. Consequently, the jacket layer 3 from its cutting position to the end part side of the coated optical fiber 5 of the optical fiber ribbon can easily and completely be removed to completely expose the optical fiber to desired length.
