JOINING METHOD BY BRAZING SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH CARBURIZATION

Abstract:

PURPOSE: To complete joining by brazing while the condition or an ordinary carburization treatment is maintained by mixing Cu, Fe, Ni and Co powders with Cu-Sn alloy powder specified of a compsn. and melting temp. and using the mixture as a brazing material.

CONSTITUTION: The powder which consists essentially of 80W70wt% Cu and 20W 30% Sn, contains further ≤5% Fe, Ni, Co, etc. and is adjusted of the melting temp. to 850W950°C is mixed therein with the alloy powder which is added with 10W30% Cu or Fe, Ni, Co alone or in combination at 2W4 times of the amt. contd. in abovementioned alloy powder and is alloyed. Such alloy powder mixture is used as a brazing material and the brazed material is heated in an ordinary carburizing or carbonitriding atmosphere, whereby the joining by brazing is accomplished simultaneously with the carburization treatment. The stage and energy consumption are lessened by the above-mentioned method. The method is applicable to joining of the gear piece and splined piece of a transmission.
