Abstract:

PURPOSE: To couple material members with high strength at a low cost by disposing a raw material which generates high forming heat to the outside peripheral parts of the surfaces to join ≥2 material members and heading the part near the joint surfaces of the material members in which the high forming heat is generated.

CONSTITUTION: The material members 1, 2 are ceramics and metal, Al alloy and steel, etc., and a raw material molding 4 is formed of a cylindrical molding made by using TiWC, TiWB, ZrWB and respectively mixing these materials. A stress relieve plate 3 (Ag, etc.) is held in place between the joint surfaces of the material members 1, 2 and the outside periphery thereof is enclosed with the raw material molding 4. A carbon rod 5 is installed to the circumference of the molding 4 and the molding 4 is pressurized by a punch 7 to pressurize the joint surfaces by the punch 8. The molding 4 reacts and the part near the joint surfaces is heated up to a high temp. if the rod 5 is forcibly ignited. The two material members 1, 2 are then joined via the silver layer. The material members are simply and easily joined by the above-mentioned joining method.
