To provide a joining method of a metal material, by which the metal material having an oxide film on at least one surface thereof can be directly joined in the atmosphere at low temperature, at low pressure and at low cost.
When joining a first member 1 whose at least joining surface is comprised of a metal A and a second member 2 whose at least joining surface is comprised of a metal B, the first member 1 and the second member 2 are heated, while pressure is relatively applied, in a state that an insert member 3 is interposed into the joining surface, to cause an eutectic reaction between each of the metal A or the metal B and the insert member 3. Then the first and second members are joined while a fused material formed in the eutectic reaction is discharged together with the oxide films 1f, 2f of the metals A, B from the joining surface.
