PURPOSE: To obtain a good positioning precision and to avoid a bulging due to calking by composing of metal member protruded an emboss and a metal member provided with a tapered part at the side of hole, and fitting the emboss to a hole and squeezing the emboss along a taper.

CONSTITUTION: The emboss 3 is protruded on the flat plate metal member 1 by stamping, forming the recess 4 on opposite side. Also, the hole 5, which fits with the emboss 3, is arranged on the flat plate metal member 2, and the tapered part 6 on side of the hole 5. When the emboss 3 is fitted in the hole 5, the relative position relationship of the metal members 1, 2 is precisely set. The piled two metal members 1, 2 are arranged on the jig 10 and the emboss 3 of metal member 1 is squeezed by the punch 12 with taper face. At this time, the pastically deformed part 7 is formed. Thus, because of good positioning precision and no bulging due to calking, the joined part is free from any obstruction for product functioning.
