PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct new footing in a way that does not interfere with existing footing, while supporting a load of a superstructure in the existing footing.SOLUTION: A joining structure 1 of a steel pillar to footing related to the present invention is applied to a substructure with an existing pier 8 as an existing pillar set up on existing footing 2. A load transfer plate 3 with a whole shape forming a rectangle is disposed on the upper part of the existing footing 2, and new footing 4 is constructed in the periphery of the existing footing 2 in the form with the load transfer plate embedded therein and a new pier 5 is set up as a new steel pillar on the load transfer plate. The load transfer plate 3 is disposed on the upper part of the existing footing 2 so that the outer peripheral edge surrounds the outer peripheral edge of the existing footing 2 in a horizontal plane and the edge 7 of a pillar perforated opening 6 formed in the vicinity of a center surrounds the base part 8a of the existing pier 8, and I-shaped steel beams are crossed in a lattice shape and configured so that the height of those beams forms the entire thickness.
