The joint 11 for the culvert pipes is formed of an elastically deformable material, and has suckets 13 to which the culvert pipes 16 to be embedded in the ground are connected. The joint has a cutout portion 14 formed in a proximal area of each suckets 13 thereof over half a circumference, and has a slit 15 formed therein so as to extend between each cutout portion 14 and each sucket opening edge 13a in a sucket axial direction.
