To provide a joint connecting and fixing a vertical frame and a horizontal frame without a bolt as a first subject, and to heighten the degree of freedom in design by giving variation in surface decoration as a second subject.

In this joint, an inner case 3 is mounted in a joint case mounted in a hollow part of a frame material, and a pair of working plates are energized inside and mounted in the inner case 3. The tip parts of the working plates are provided with a locking piece 7 locked in a locking groove 12 of the other frame material 11, and the bases of the working plates are provided with an operating member 6 for moving the paired working plates forward and backward at the same time, whereby when the paired working plates are moved to the projecting side by the operation of the operating member, the space between the working plates at the tip parts is expanded so that the locking pieces 7 are locked in the locking groove of the frame material 11. The frame material 11 is provided with a longitudinal continuous locking groove 12, and a longitudinal continuous corner locking groove, and an auxiliary frame material is fitted to the corner locking groove.
