To prevent abrasion caused by friction between the joint part of canvas for paper making and the surface of paper and extinguish joint marks.
In making joint loops with the warp of canvas for paper making having a twill woven surface contacting to paper, the warp is extended by passing under the top weft of the surface on the machine side to make a loop, folded back again by passing between the top weft of the surface contacting to paper and the top weft on the machine side and woven into the texture. AS the top weft of the surface contacting to paper, twisted yarns of a lot of microfilaments such as multifilaments, spun yarns or the like are used. The top of the warp loop is lower than the surface contacting to paper, so it does not contact to paper and there is no friction with the surface of paper, therefor joint marks are not generated.
