PURPOSE: To provide a water cutoff layer constituted of piles, formed with a wide space section at the assembling portion of steel products between the piles, filling a filler to easily form a water cutoff section, and improving the reliability of the water cutoff section.
CONSTITUTION: Sheet piles 15, 16 are driven to form a water cutoff wall, and side plate members 31, 32 fitted with base sections to both piles 15, 16 by welding are arranged. Part of the sheet pile is cut off to form the side plate members 31, 32, and joint members are combined to maintain the water cutoff performance. A soil discharge plate 36 is provided at the side section of one sheet pile to discharge the sediment in the portion partitioned by the side plate members 31, 32 and the sheet piles 15, 16, and a space section for filling a filler can be formed when the sheet piles 15, 16 are driven. Asphalt mastic or mortar is filled into the space section and solidified to form a water cutoff section 30.
