To increase the bending strength and toughness of the joint portion between a pile and a post without overlapping the upper end of the reinforcement 11 of the pile with the lower end of the reinforcement 31 of a post to bending strength and toughness equal to or higher than those in the case that the upper end of the reinforcement of the pile is overlapped with the lower end of the reinforcement of the post in the joint structure between the pile and the post for connecting the pile 1 and the post 3 to each other through the steel tube 5 which is so buried as to ride over the pile and the post.
The length and thickness of one side of the section of a steel tube 5 are so set that the bending strength of the cross section of the steel tube 5 is equal to that of the cross section of the overall main reinforcement 12 of the reinforcements 11 of the pile 1. When the length of one side of the cross section of the steel tube 5 is d, the length of the steel tube 5 buried in the pile 1 is L, and the lateral tie ratio of the pile around the steel tube 5 is pw, a value of pwL/d comes within a range of 0.019 to 0.040.
