Abstract:
To provide a joint structure of steel pipes which does not largely increase cost of manufacture, which has excellent workability in joining steel pipes, and in which there is no hindrance of function in steel pipes joined with each other.SOLUTION: A joint structure 1 includes: an outer joint pipe 5 provided at a joint end portion of a one steel pipe 3 to be joined; and an inner joint pipe 7 which is provided at an end portion of the other steel pipe 3 to be joined and which includes, at a tip side, a protrusion 23 capable of being inserted into the outer joint pipe 5 and engaging with an engaging portion 25 of the outer joint pipe 5 when insertion is completed. The inner joint pipe 7 includes strip-shaped piece portions 15 divided into a multiple numbers in a pipe circumference direction by slits. Each piece portion 15 elastically deforms to an inside when inserted into the outer joint pipe 5 and the elastic deformation is recovered when the insertion is completed, so that the protrusion 23 engages with the engaging portion 25 of the outer joint pipe 5. Each piece portion 15 includes, at the base portion side, a waveform shape portion 27 whose cross section in radial direction is equal to or larger than those of other parts in a base portion and whose deformation in the radial direction is easier than the other parts.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
