Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable to join easily bases with each other by giving sufficient strength through heating and pressing, by forming a transparent thin layer made of a metal, a metallic oxide, or glass on a jointing surface of the one side polyester base by a dry plating method and electric discharge treatment is applied to the other jointing surface.

CONSTITUTION: A thin layer made of various metals (such as aluminum and silicon) and their oxides or glass is formed on one side of one side polyester base by a vacuum metallizing method or spattering method. On the one hand, low-temperature plasmic treatment of the surface of the other side base to be jointed is performed, for example, within oxygen, argon, nitrogen, helium or mixture gas of them having pressure of 1×10-3W1Toor. Then the treated surfaces are heated at the temperature of less than a melting point and jointed with each other by pressing them with surface pressure of 2W10kg/cm2. A laminated material obtained in this manner can be made into a container and a packaging material which are useful for food and drink use.
