PURPOSE: To surely connect a precast concrete pavement slab to existing concrete pavement slab by a method in which connecting steel rods are thrust through arc-shaped connecting holes formed in the joint ends of precast concrete pavement slab and connecting holes formed in the joint end of existing concrete pavement slab and fixed.

CONSTITUTION: Arc-shaped connecting hole 12 is formed in the peripheral joint end of a PC pavement slab 10 by turning its opening 2a toward almost horizontal direction. A connecting hole 14 is formed in the joint end of existing concrete pavement 11. The sables 10 are set with a joint spacing between the joint ends 10a and 11a by facing their holes 12 and 14. A connecting steel rod 18 is inserted into the opening 12b to the final end of the hole 12, a filler 20 is injected into the holes 12 and 14 and hardened, and an expandible joint filler 21 is packed into the joint spacing. The connection can thus be strengthened, and the transmission of vertical load can be surely attained.
