Abstract:
PURPOSE:To suppress an irregularity of a device characteristic and to prevent a deterioration of the device characteristic by a method wherein two superconductors and a weak coupling part coupled to these are composed of oxide superconductors and a critical temperature of the two superconductors is higher than the critical temperature of the superconductor constituting the weak coupling part. CONSTITUTION:Superconductors 12, 14 and a weak coupling part 13 are composed of La-Sr-Cu-O-related (oxide-related) superconductors; a relationship among critical temperatures T12, T14 and T13 of the respective superconductors is set as follows: T12-T13>=3K; T14-T13>=3K. The critical temperatures of the individual superconductors are adjusted by adjusting a constituent ratio of individual elements for the La-Sr-Cu-O-related superconductors. In this Josephson junction device, only the superconductors 12, 14 are superconductive between the critical temperature which is lower out of the critical temperatures T12, T14 for the superconductors 12, 14 and the critical temperature T13 for the weak coupling part 13; an electric current due to a tunnel effect flows between them. The Josephson junction device is formed in such a way that the superconductor 12, the weak coupling part 13 and the superconductor 14 are laminated in this order on a substrate 10 by a film-formation technique such as a sputtering technique or the like.
