Abstract:
PURPOSE:To supply a Josephson logic circuit with power of specified voltage by connecting Josephson junctions, junction length thereof extends over a Josephson penetrating distance or less, in parallel. CONSTITUTION:A Josephson junction for a regulator is divided by small-area junction windows 5, and the small-area junction windows 5 are formed by an inter-layer insulating film 3 on a lower electrode 4. Thin tunnel barrier layers are shaped in the small-area junction windows 5, and the Josephson junction is constituted by an upper electrode 2 formed onto the tunnel barrier layer and the lower electrode 4. The junction length of small-area junctions is made sufficiently smaller than Josephson penetrating length, currents are distributed uniformly in junction surfaces, and allowance for dissipating heat is shaped around the junction, thus resulting in no concentric heat generation at an input terminal and an output terminal for currents, then also cooling generated heat by the allowance for dissipating heat. Accordingly, gap voltage does not lower due to the generation of quasi-particles, thus supplying a Josephson logic circuit with power of specified voltage.
