Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a journal bearing device having a bearing pad having high-reliability, and to provide a rotary machine including the journal bearing device.SOLUTION: The journal bearing device includes: a carrier ring; and at least two bearing pads. The bearing pad includes: a substrate having a surface where multiple grooves are opened; and a bearing material laminated at the surface of the substrate so as to cover the grooves and capable of facing an outer peripheral surface of a journal. The multiple grooves respectively extend along multiple virtual spirals extending around an axis line of the carrier ring.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
