PURPOSE: To provide the joy stick controller with good operability without increasing the quantity of the hardware as to a joy stick controller which controls a cursor display position through the operation of a joy stick.

CONSTITUTION: The joy stick controller consists of a joy stick device 10 which represents the inclination of an operation lever in three dimensions and outputs (x)-, (y)-, and (z)-directional coordinate directions of the operation lever placed at an optional position, a dx calculation part 11 which receives the X-directional signal and Z-directional signal from the joy stick device 10 and calculates the quantity dx of (x)-directional displacement, a dy calculation part 12 which receives the (y)-directional signal and (z)-directional signal from the joy stick device 10 and calculates the quantity dy of (y)-directional displacement, and a cursor control part 4 which receives the outputs of the dx calculation part 11 and dy calculation part 12 and displays the cursor position on a display device 5.
