PURPOSE: To constitute so that a remarkable and steep movement of a display point and a fine and slow movement of the display point are compatible, by only operating one lever and a changeover switch, without requiring any complicated mechanism and operation, in a joy stick device which is used for an input, etc. of a computer.

CONSTITUTION: A push switch is incorporated to a lever 1, and when it is depressed, outputs of a variable resistor 4 and 5 are connected to an amplifier 8 and 13 side, respectively, and when it is released, they are connected to an integrator 9 and 14 side. Thereafter, outputs of each adder 10, 15 are made outputs of X and Y, respectively, and are provided as X and Y position signals of a CRT. When the lever 1 is not depressed but inclined, the output corresponding to the inclination is integrated by a short time constant as the inclination is steep, and the point on the CRT moves quickly as the inclination is larger. When the CRT is observed and the point approaches the object position, the lever 1 is returned quickly to its original position, and thereafter, when the switch is depressed and moved, the display point moves within a very small range around a position where it stops once.
