Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To judge the collision of a vehicle quickly and precisely by severally judging an acceleration sensor, a short section speed variation slope, the integrated value of fluctuating acceleration and the quantity of vibration energy on a threshold limit value, and synthetically judging the result of the above judgments.
SOLUTION: An acceleration signal detected by an acceleration sensor 2 is sent to an AD converter 4 through a low path filter 3 for anti, and the acceleration signal determined as discrete value acceleration data is taken in a digital signal processing section 1a. The detection of collision start time and the judgement of collision type are carried out on the taken in acceleration data by a short section integrator 5, and the results of judgment carried out by a fluctuating acceleration integrator 21 and of judgment carried out by vibration energy computing means are severally judged on a threshold limit value for synthetically carrying out the judgment of collision. Thus early judgment at the time when the acceleration is not sufficiently grown at the early time of collision becomes possible, and the discrimination between the above time and the time when the acceleration is sufficiently grown and that of running on an edge stone become possible.
