Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of judging whether state where a paper sheet is wound up around a paper sleeve, good or not, without any help from others and without requiring complicated calculations by a cheap installation, in a surface driving winder used in a paper mill for winding up the paper sheet around the paper sleeve. SOLUTION: A paper sleeve K is allowed to abut on between two winding rolls W1 , W2 and a riding roll R of a surface driving winder, and the surfaces of three rolls W1 , W2 , R before and immediately after a paper sheet S is wound up, are photographed by a monitoring camera C. The inspection areas set in the respective pictures are partitioned into a number of fine meshes, and brightnesses of the respective meshes are converted into numerical value data. A reference value is set from the photographed pictures before the winding the paper sheet, and a value is determined by dividing the sum of the number of meshes having the brightness over the reference value, which are taken from the photographed picture immediately after the winding the paper sheet, by the total number of meshes. The value is compared to a preliminarily set winding up inspection level value to judge whether the state where the paper sheet S is wound up around the paper sleeve K is good or not.
