Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select one of plural reading ways of a KANJI(Chinese character) by setting a KANJI/KANA(Japanese syllabary) conversion flag at the first time of conversion and checking the flag to convert the KANJI into a KANA of another reading way when the next KANJI/KANA conversion instruction is given.
SOLUTION: A cursor pointer 1-6 shows the present cursor position, and a range designation pointer 1-7 shows the head and the end of characters included in a designated range. The character string enclosed by the pointer 1-7 is taken out of a sentence buffer 1-5 and set to a KANJI/KANA conversion buffer 1-13. Then a KANA is retrieved from a KANJI by a KANJI/KANA conversion processor 1-11 and set to a KANA/KANJI conversion buffer 1-12. In such a way, a KANJI/KANA conversion flag is set at the first time of conversion and then checked when the next KANJI/KANA conversion instruction is given. Thus, the next candidate of KANJI/KANA conversion is judged and then converted into a KANA of another reading way.
