PURPOSE: To make it possible to assemble the oil burner automatically by using a machine and to reduce cost by improving the productivity of the oil burner, by a method wherein a small chamber and a rack housing chamber are formed by merely fitting first W third cylindrical members together in sequence.
CONSTITUTION: Cylindrical members 6, 7 and 8 are open downward and when they are assembled, the second cylindrical member 7 is fitted into the first cylindrical member 6 and the third cylindrical member 8 into the second cylindrical member 7 in sequence. After that, the lower ends A of the members 7 and 8 are merely caulked to thereby complete the assembly of the oil burner with the formation of the small chamber 10 and the rack housing chamber 11. Further, the entire periphery of the upper end of the third cylindrical member 8 is tapered to expand outwardly so as to come into contact with a small stepped section 7a formed on the entire periphery of the part between a stepped section 7b for forming the small chamber 10 and a small cylindrical section 7c. With the above structure, the upper end of the third cylindrical member 8 is bent outwardly without projecting into a space 4 within which a wick 5 moves vertically, so that the up and down movements of the wick 5 are made smoothly without that upper end biting into the wick.
