PURPOSE: To prevent generation of bad smell and carbon monoxide or the like after extinguishing a fire rapidly and completely by a method wherein a projection section contacting closely with the lower end peripheral rim of a combustion chamber is provided on the shielding plate between the combustion chamber and a fire-pan section.

CONSTITUTION: Vapor heat is absorbed by fuel of a wick 1 and is radiated to the circumferential metal part then a wall temperature is decreased at the lower end part of the combustion chamber. Accordingly, the upper and lower surface of the shielding plate 8 and the circumference thereof are wet with condensation of the fuel vapor, in case the shielding plate 8 is put forward, the fuel adhere to the upper surface contacting to the lower rim part of the combustion chamber 6 to expose in the combustion chamber. In case the projection part 8b is provided on the part which contacts closely with the lower end part peripheral rim of the combustion chamber 6, the part thereof only is wet with the condensation fuel and the fuel adhesion at the upper surface of the shielding plate is avoided. According to this method, the fuel vapor does not descent in the combustion chamber 6 of the high temperature and the bad smell substance of aldehydes or the like due to partial oxidation and the carbon monoxide or the like are not created and discharged. On the other hand, the fire extinguishing is effected in a moment completely at the lower part of the shielding plate 8 due to the clogging while the fuel vapor evaporating from the wick 1 is closed to the lower part of the fire-pan section 5 having the low temperature and it hardly leaks, therefore, the generating source of the bad smell or the like may be avoided.
