Abstract:

To provide a key device capable of preventing installation of a separate mechanical key.

A pattern having the depth of engaging holes 83 to 85 is individually set with every mechanical key, and a position of a boundary surface between pin tumblers 63 to 65 and pin tumblers 73 to 75, is determined in response to the depth of the engaging holes 83 to 85. Only when installing a normal mechanical key 80 adapted to a key body 50, the boundary surface between the pin tumblers 63 to 65 and the pin tumblers 73 to 75, coincides with a boundary surface between a case 60 and a slider 70. In short, when installing the normal mechanical key 80, its installation is permitted. When installing the separate mechanical key, its installation is checked.
